There is often a misconception that Principals have it easy, but before you get to deep into the program, I want to let you know the expectations of a principal. First, no more summers off. Yes, you still have a boss over you. You are in charge of bus schedules, assemblies, and teacher schedules, and rosters. On top of dealing with parents, an entire staff, building, and dealing with the state. Someone will always be unhappy with you, and you have to have thick skin. Good Luck!

Hi I'm Mark Risser. I graduated from High School in 2002 from Palmyra Area High School. I attended Alvernia College and graduated in December of 2006. I started substituting in various districts in 2007-2008. In 2008 I was hired as a full time 4th grade teacher at Pine Street Elementary School. In 2013 I made the switch to Steelton-Highspire in 2013, and teach 2nd grade.
